Help us improve bicycling and walking in Saco!
Whether you live in Saco or just visit occasionally, the Saco Active Community Environment Team needs your help to make the community a better place for biking and walking. The ACE team hopes to identify barriers to biking and walking. Do you wish that cars drove more slowly through downtown? Want to see more crosswalks close to local schools? Wish that sidewalks were in better shape? Please share your input by taking this short SACO ACE SURVEY. It should take no more than five minutes.

    A car wash held by members of Saco's Public Safety personnel raises $850 to help victims of domestic violence.

    Got drugs?
    Turn in your unused, unwanted or expired medications for safe disposal. This includes prescription, over-the-counter or veterinary pills, drops, ointments. Saturday September 27th, 10 a.m 2 p.m.

    Help us improve bicycling and walking in Saco. Come to the Saco Active Community Forum, September 17, 4 - 6 p.m. at the Saco Transportation Center, 138 Main Street, Saco.

    Dispatcher Steven Kierstead recognized for assistance with birth
    Kierstead's ability to calm the father and direct him throughout the birth results in the delivery of a healthy baby boy.

    Household Hazardous Waste collection day, Saturday Sept. 20
    There will be a Household Hazardous Waste collection day on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Biddeford Public Works department, 371 Hill St., Biddeford. This free event is open to citizens of Biddeford and Saco.

    Deputy Chief Raynald Demers marks 30 years of service
    Starting out as a reserve office in Camp Ellis, he has become the department's "go-to" guy.

    Community facilitators available
    Recent graduates of the Maine Cooperative Extension training series Strengthening Your Facilitation Skills are available to offer facilitation services to local groups in Biddeford, Saco, Old Orchard Beach and surrounding communities.

    Citizens Fire Academy
    The Citizens Fire Academy, a free six-session series of classes held by the Saco Fire Department, will begin Oct. 1, 2014 and run every Wednesday through Nov. 5. The CFA is open to Saco citizens 18 years and older. For more information and to apply, follow this link.
