Fair Hearing Authority (FHA) for General Assistance

This is an authority created by City Code and whose purpose is to determine, based on all the evidence presented at the fair hearing, whether the claimant(s) were eligible to receive assistance at the time they applied for general assistance. The FHA is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that general assistance is administered in accordance with the state law and local ordinance. Municipal officers will appoint the FHA.

The FHA operates on an "as needed" basis.
