Dog Licenses

Dog Licenses are issued by the City Clerk's Office & Finance Department first floor center lobby, City Hall. Licenses are issued for one year ending December 31st.

You may also register your dog online through the State of Maine web site.

The license fees as of January 1, 2005 are as follows:

• NEUTERED/SPAYED DOG: $6
• UNALTERED MALE OR FEMALE: $11.00
• KENNEL (1-10 dogs): $42.00. Kennels must be inspected annually.
• Any dog SIX (6) MONTHS OF AGE must be licensed.
• DEADLINE for licensing is NO LATER THAN JANUARY 31ST.

You must present the following at the time of registration:

• A current Maine rabies certificate
• A neutering or spaying certificate if the dog has been altered

LATE FEE: A late fee of $15.00 will be charged for any license renewed after January 31st. A late fee of $25.00 will be charged for any license renewed after April 1st.
