As a self-insured health insurance plan, the Maine Municipal Employee's Health Trust understands how important it is for its members to remain healthy. By controlling health claims costs, the Health Trust can keep its premiums at a reasonable level, while still providing our members with solid, high quality benefits programs.
To this end, the Health Trust provides its member employers and employees with a number of health education and wellness programs. From on-site classes to newsletters, from walking programs to financial assistance for employer groups with wellness committees, the Health Trust has a strong commitment to helping its members find and maintain their optimal physical and mental health.
Sometimes the biggest obstacle to offering a successful worksite wellness program is money. Municipalities are on tight budgets and the Health Trust recognizes that there may not always be money to spare for Wellness programs.
That's why the Health Trust provides funding for employer groups that sponsor eligible wellness-related activities for their employees. Under the terms of the Health Trust's Wellness Incentive Grant, a group may be eligible to receive up to $30 per Health Trust participating employee per year, to help fund wellness activities. Grants are provided on a quarterly basis.
