On October 29, 2010 Saco officer Jeff Cook responded to a report of a man choking at an upper Main Street restaurant. Upon his arrival he was directed to a restroom where he found Robert, 47, of Arundel performing the Heimlich maneuver on a man who had a piece of food lodged in his throat and was choking. Robert's efforts had helped to partially dislodge the object and the man was able to breathe on his own. Because this person's airway was still partially obstructed he was transported to the hospital by rescue, but Robert's involvement clearly helped. Often in an emergency we find that a stranger's willingness to get involved and do something rather than nothing can make a major difference, as it did in this case. Congratulations, Robert for earning your Coin!
