The City of Saco will accept only certain items of special waste, which may be disposed of safely by incineration. Accepted material must be in a clear, see-thru, storage container for ease of inspection. The following is a list of acceptable items, which may be brought to the recycling department for disposal:

Accepted Materials: The materials noted above will be logged in at the recycling building. Logged information will include; residents name, address, phone number, and quantity of material dropped off. The material will be inspected and if determined acceptable will be placed into the appropriate designated container. This container will be the bulk storage tank located under the furnace or a designated acceptable holding tank. All tanks will be labeled with 3" white letters clearly indicating contents.
Unaccepted Materials: The City has for the last couple of years hosted a Hazardous Waste Collection for Saco residents. Residents are urged to utilize this time for disposal of special waste. Visit our Annual Collection Day link for date and time to be announced after July.
