Leaf Collection, 2006

The City of Saco will be having its annual leaf collection beginning the week of November 13. We ask that ALL Residents place BAGGED leaves out at curbside no later than 7 a.m. on Monday the 13th. Bags can be picked up at the Public Works Office or the Transfer Station.

Leaves MUST be placed in specific biodegradable bags, or will not be picked up. Paper leaf bags will also be accepted. A maximum of 20 bags will be allotted to each household. We will be picking leaves up all week street by street, but will only do each street once. If you miss the pick up, you can always bring your leaves to the Transfer Station in Saco free of charge. For further information please call 282-1552.

The City has chosen a biodegradable bag to save man hours of ripping up plastic bags after collection. Once collected, your leaves will end up in Saco's compost pile where they can stay in our community and some day help someone else's garden grow, or maybe even your own. If you are interested in composing your own leaves, the City has compost bins for sale at the Public Works Office.
