In April 2002 Grondins started work on another phase to the Maine Turnpike. Work commenced at exit 5 and end 2.4 miles south at exit 4. Some of the waste fill materials will be hauled to an open field at the City's Transfer Station for use in developing recreational fields later next year.continue

Ferry Road/Route 9 Sidewalk Repairs
April Start For Brick Sidewalk Repairs
Public Works and Dearborn Construction have started improvements to brick sidewalks on the Ferry Road. Work started this month, April 2002, and is expected to last into the early part of the summer.

To All Dyer Street Residents
Successful Completion
The sewer separation along with road and sidewalk improvements to Dyer Street is complete. Homeowners were left drainage service stubs to the Right-of-Way line for each dwelling. These stubs are available for each homeowner to connect sump pumps or cellar drains to the storm drain system. All combined discharge facilities will no longer be permitted to discharge to the sanitary sewer. Homeowners are required to make the necessary separation within their dwellings and connect to the drain stubs provided.
This project was completed by joining approved independent contractors and Public Works crews. The ability to undertake projects such as this affords the community to experience capital improvements with an edge to saving tax dollars.

Completed road construction projects, such as this, are placed on a five-year moratorium from receiving street opening permits. Contact us if you need assistance to understanding the needs for separating your system. We have also started the inspection process for utility separations as required by ordinance. We ask for you cooperation to completing this required work as soon as practical. Thank you for your patience during construction activities.
