What's new on the website?
Below you'll find a list of recent additions to the City of Saco website, as well as some timely favorites:
  • Household Hazardous Waste disposal days
The Public Works Departments in Saco, Biddeford and Scarborough have scheduled three days during the coming spring/summer when residents of those communities can dispose of common household hazardous wastes that can't be thrown out with the regular trash.

  • Trash disposal
And speaking of trash disposal, do you know what should be thrown away and what should be recycled? What do you do with brush and leaves? There's a place for everything. To find out where something should go, see the trash disposal page in the Public Works Department.

  • Work off part of your tax bill
If you are having trouble paying your property tax bill, you may be able to work off part of the cost by volunteering for the city. There are plenty of opportunities out there. For details about eligibility and an application, follow the link above.

  • Budget receives award
The City of Saco has received an award for its 2009 budget presentation. It was the only community in Maine to do so. For details, follow the link above.

  • What's new in the Swap Shop?
There's a six-burner gas stove that was once used in the Odd Fellows Hall in Saco. Also, someone is looking for a manual wheelchair.

  • Turbine statistics
Statistics on the wind turbine on York Hill are once again being updated every 10 minutes. We apologize for the recent outage, which was due to a software configuration error. You will notice that the timing of the statistics is off by one hour -- we are working on correcting this.
