What's new on the website?
Below you'll find a list of recent additions to the City of Saco website, as well as some timely favorites:
  • Recreational basketball schedules
Schedules are up for the Parks and Recreation Department's recreational basketball league for school boys and girls. You can see all the schedules on the Parks and Recreation Department's schedules page.

  • Winter's here!
In case you hadn't noticed, winter has arrived, even if the calendar says it's still officially fall. We've already had our first parking ban. If you'd like to know more about the Public Works's winter operations, sign up for notices about upcoming parking bans, or even find out where the best spot to put your mailbox so it won't get buried, see the Public Works Winter Operations page.

  • Affordable Housing Strategy
Housing in Saco is not cheap. Recognizing that fact, the city recently conducted a study of housing costs in Saco and came up with some possible solutions. The study was adopted by the City Council in November. You can download the study from the City of Saco archives by following this link.

  • Saco welcomes a new patrol officer
The Saco Police Department has recently hired Jason McClure as a patrol officer. You can learn more about Jason and also get caught up on other new personnel at the SPD by going to the police department page.

  • Flu season in full swing
Flu season is in full force, with many people now suffering from the H1N1 (swine flu) virus. The city's Emergency Management Department has lots of links for learning more about this disease and how to protect yourself from it.

  • Pay bills ONLINE, not INLINE
No one likes waiting in line, especially not to pay a bill. Don't forget, you can pay your city real estate and personal property tax bills online, as well as some utility bills. Just follow the link above.

  • Free woodstove
The City of Saco swap shop is offering a free woodstove. It needs some work, but with repair could be a good alternate source of heat. To see the stove and other items being given away, just go to the Swap Shop.
