Temple, Green, Pleasant Streets: Drains, Sidewalks and Streets Project

Green Street has poor curbing and sidewalks
The segments of Temple, Green, and Pleasant Streets between Elm and Spring Street have deteriorated pavement, curbing that needs to be reset, sidewalks which need to be repaved and drains which need to be separated from the sanitary sewer.

The roadway improvements would include excavating portions of these streets, replacing poor, substandard gravels, resetting existing granite curb, and repaving streets and sidewalks, and separating the stormwater from the sewer lines. The project, by eliminating 13 catch basins would decrease the stormwater entering the sewer and subsequently the wastewater treatment plant and would restore the road and sidewalk in this neighborhood. The total estimated cost of this project is $1.2 million. Performing the utility work at the same time as the paving the most cost effective approach.
