Saco Parks & Recreation 2009 Fall Soccer Registration July 13th - August 7th 2009

Grades 1st & 2nd Boys & Girls Soccer
Fee: $35.00 for Six Weeks and includes a T-Shirt & Ball
Kick Off: Saturday August 29th at Saco Middle School
Boys - Practice Mondays with Games on Saturdays
Girls - Practice Tuesdays with Games on Saturdays

Grades 3rd & 4th Boys & Girls Soccer
Fee: $35.00 for Six Weeks and includes a T-Shirt & Ball

Soccer Balls! - this year we will be giving a ball to everyone who registers. We want to encourage children to play at home as well as with our program. Because of this our volunteer coaches will not be bringing balls to practice. Children will be expected to bring their ball. After receiving your ball please write your child's name on it with a Sharpie marker. We believe this is a great way to promote the sport. Everyone attending the Thornton Clinic should bring their ball!

New This Year!!!! Every Week we will offer a specialized skills clinic for Grades 1st - 6th Wednesday 6:00 - 7:00 pm Boys Thursday 6:00 - 7:00 pm Girls This will be run at Saco Middle School Join us for special guest coaches!! Bring Your Ball and Bring your Game!

Free Soccer Clinic!!! TA Varsity Men's and Women's Team present their annual Rec Soccer Clinic. Join us on Thursday August from 5:00 to 6:30 pm for a fun night of skills & games as we kick off another season of Fall Soccer. Players must have shin guards and please bring water or sports drinks. You should also have the ball you received at registration with your name 27th on it.

MEET THE TEAM NIGHT!!! You will not receive a call before this night. Plan on showing up, check our website or call the office after the 13th. Thursday August 13th Meet your team, pick up t-shirts and get your schedules.

• 5:30 pm - Pre-K & K
• 6:30 pm - 1st & 2nd Grade Boys and Girls
• 7:30 pm - 3rd - 6th Grade Boys & Girls

Recreation Soccer - even though this is recreation soccer we partner at the Grades 1st - 6th level with teams from other cities. This will require you to play some games in neighboring towns such as Biddeford and Old Orchard. The 5th & 6th grade level maybe asked to travel to Scarborough, Gorham and South Portland as well as Biddeford & Old Orchard for games on Saturdays. These teams are also Recreation teams and do not play in the "Travel Division" under the Soccer Maine governing body. Just like Saco, these towns are experiencing drops in numbers at the older age groups so we have formed a Recreation Division so there are more teams to play. Volunteer Meeting If you sign up to help please assume you will be working with your son or daughters team and attend this meeting.

Practice Practice for Grades 1st - 6th teams will begin the week of August 17th at the coach's availability. Teams will be announced on Wednesday August 12th at a meeting for all volunteers. This meeting will be at the Saco Community Center at 6:00 PM. All equipment and rosters will be handed out that night.
