Recent Planning Board approvals

Thornton Academy Master Plan

  • two new dormitory buildings,
  • a new synthetic turf field and stadium lighting at Hill Stadium,
  • a 1,900 s.f. expansion of the dining hall, and a canopy extension at the loading dock for food services,
  • the addition of a stair/elevator tower to the existing Emery Building
  • the renovation of two athletic fields and construction of one new field on the westerly side of campus, to include an 800 s.f. storage/bathroom building.
Ferry Beach Park Association
Construct a new dining hall, 7,477 s.f. footprint, that will take the place of the existing dining hall. The existing hall will be devoted to other uses. Four existing cabins will be relocated to another lot to allow for the new building. A nurse's cabin would be relocated on the same (dining hall) lot. Also, an existing 792 s.f. footprint maintenance garage is to be demolished, to be replaced by a new 576 s.f. footprint garage.

The Eastern Trail
Construction of 18,000 square feet of walking and bicycling trail. (See separate article.)

31 lots, Buxton Road, Don and Jean Horton

Franklin Street Multifamily
76 Franklin Street, re-approval of 8 lot multifamily first approved in 2007.
