If you suffered damage from the severe storms and flooding that occurred between April 15-23, and you live in Cumberland or York County, you may be eligible for State and Federal Disaster Assistance.
You must call to apply at 1-800-621-3362, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. seven (7) days a week. For those who use TTY: 1-800-462-7585
You can apply ONLINE: www.fema.gov
When you make this call have the following ready:
- a phone number to reach you;
- your Social Security number;
- a list of damages or losses you suffered;
- your insurance company and policy number;
- and a bank account and routing number if you wish to speed up your assistance with direct deposit.
It is very important that you make this phone call to receive your REGISTRATION NUMBER. Within a few days a FEMA representative will call you to set up an appointment to talk with you and/or view your damage or loss due to the storms.If you do NOT receive a phone call back from FEMA within a few days, call them back.
FEMA Disaster Recovery Temporary Centers are open in Maine, in the Saco area you can visit the Saco Community Center at 75 Franklin Street on May 16 and May 17; and the York County Community College Center is opening on May 16. At these centers you can receive information on disaster assistance program and US small business administration disaster loans.
