1606-mainstreetWell, it looks like summer is really coming and almost here, finally! Saco Main Street a lot of exciting things planned for this year. The most obvious addition that you may have seen are the 68 US and Maine flags that line our Main Street from the Saco River to Beach Street. It is an awesome new look for Saco.

We will be installing 35 Adirondack Chairs on Main Street in a month. The "Adirondacks on Main" chairs are being sponsored by individuals and businesses, painted and decorated and will spend the summer on our Main Street. At the end of the summer we will be auctioning them to the highest bidder, so if you have a favorite follow us on the Saco Main Street Facebook page for further details.

Saco Main Street with be partnering with the Heart of Biddeford and Angelrox to produce the Biddeford Ball on June 18th in Saco ant the Saco Mill Building #4. It will be a magical night with a fashion show, fantastic food from area restaurants, music, and dancing. This is a not to be missed event. Tickets can be purchased at Suger on Alfred Street in Biddeford.

The 46th Annual Saco Main Street Art Festival will be held in downtown Saco on Main Street June 25th from 9-4. Artists from across the region will be here as well as food and music. Family fun for all!

On July 30th from 9:00-1:00 PM you can "Get you motor running!" when we host the 7th Annual Classic Car show on Main Street. Every year this event gets bigger and this year will be the same. Come on down and see some of the best classics from the 20's to the muscle cars of the 60's and 70's.

New for this summer the will be "Music in the Parking lot" between the Dyer Library and the Saco Museum. For six Thursday nights, starting July 7th, we will have music from the 40's though today, including: country, folk and contemporary music. The bands are being scheduled at this time so stay tuned for more details. Local non-profit organizations will be selling refreshments. So grab your lawn chair or blanket, bring the kids and the grandparents and enjoy a good old concert as a part of the Dyer Library's 150th year celebration.

That's just what we have planned for the summer... wait until the fall for RiverJam, the Harvest Festival and of course the Parade of Lights during the holidays. Make sure you don't miss anything by "liking" Saco Main Street on Facebook. Robert Biggs Executive Director Saco Main Street
