Boards and Commissions
Boards, committees, and commissions are designed to give citizens a voice in their government and provide a means of influencing decisions that shape the quality of life for residents. Participation on a board or commission is one of the most effective steps citizens can take in having an active voice in their government.
MUNICIPAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
The purpose of the City of Saco Volunteer program is to connect City of Saco residents with municipal departments through active volunteer participation. Volunteers will benefit by having a greater understanding of local government and the opportunity to make a difference.Senior citizen Tax Work-off Program
The City of Saco is accepting applications for the Senior Citizen Tax Workoff Program. Individuals must be 60 years of age prior to April 1st; must own their own home and reside at that property for the past three years; and meet income guidelines. Upon completion of 100 service hours, participants will receive a credit of up to $1200 (minus applicable taxes) towards their Saco property taxes. Please see this link for more information.
There are many local organizations looking for volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer at one of our community events, you will want to contact Saco Main Street.
