New Mooring
Permits- Boat owners who wish to moor their boats in the coastal waters of the city must apply to be on the wait list before being approved by the Harbor Master and issued a mooring permit by the city.   The initial fee to be on the wait list is $25.00 and each year thereafter it is $33.00 to hold your spot.  Once a spot is available the wait list fee that you paid for the current year will be applied as a credit toward the regular mooring permit fee.

Renewal Mooring Permits - Mooring permit applications must be renewed each year on or before March 15th or a $50.00 late fee will be assessed.  All moorings not registered by July 30th will be considered abandoned, removed and their location reassigned, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Harbor Master.  All moorings must be in by July 30th or their location will be reassigned according to waiting list priority.    Moorings that are not used for any consecutive three-month period between May 1 and September 30 shall be presumed to be abandoned and be removed at the owner's expense and the location shall be reallocated.  Mooring Permits are non-transferable.

The moorings fees are:

  • $137.00 plus $10 application fee, which includes a biannual mooring inspection
  • $25.00 for additional inspection visits
  • $50.00 late fee (if after March 15)

Mooring Permit Wait List Applications are available at the City Clerk's Office  (207) 284-4831 and under the forms for licenses and applications section on this webpage.
