River Bend Farm Project Community Meeting (04/2018) 

The Ecology School (TES) invites all interested Saco citizens to attend the River Bend Farm Project Community Meeting on Tuesday, April 10th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Saco City Hall auditorium. The meeting will be moderated by Craig Freshley of Good Group Decisions and the farmyard site design plans will be shared as part of the planning board process.

Coastal Storm Information (03/01/2018)
Saco’s Emergency Management team will continue to monitor the anticipated coastal storm for Friday into Saturday. There is the potential for flooding and possible power outages due to high wind gusts. Power outage preparation tips are available on the Ready.Gov website that may be helpful as you prepare for this storm. https://www.ready.gov/power-outages

During prolonged power outages, the Saco Transportation Center, located at 138 Main Street, is available from 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM as a great location to keep warm, charge electronic devices, and use the restroom. 

Saco Police Department to Hold Citizen Police Academy
Saco, Maine - The Saco Police Department is pleased to announce it will be holding its eighth annual Citizen Police Academy. The Citizen Police Academy will begin on February 21, 2018 and run for nine weeks.

IRS Advisory: Prepaid Real Property Taxes May Be Deductible in 2017 if Assessed and Paid in 2017
We have received several inquiries regarding the prepayment of property taxes. Our employees are unable to offer any accounting, tax, or legal advice. Please contact your individual tax or legal advisors on questions relating to the prepayment of unbilled taxes for fiscal year 2018. Here is a link to the IRS website and an article from the Washington Post for additional information. As a friendly reminder, property taxes are still tax deductible up to $10,000.

City of Saco Hires Parks and Recreation Director (12/22/17)
The City of Saco is pleased to announce its recent hire of Ryan Sommer, who will join the Saco Parks and Recreation team as Director in mid-January, pending City Council confirmation on January 2nd.
